Paste any text and the counter recomputes on every keystroke. The tool splits your text into words, applies your two options (case sensitivity and punctuation handling), then derives three numbers: the total number of word occurrences, the number of distinct words, and the repeated count (total minus unique). A frequency table tracks how often each word appears, and the top twenty are drawn as horizontal bars — the longest bar is your most frequent word.
Words are separated by whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines). With 'Ignore punctuation' enabled, leading and trailing punctuation is stripped from each word before counting, so "word," and "word" are treated as the same word. With 'Ignore case' enabled, "The" and "the" count as one word.
It is the number of words that appear more than once, computed as total words minus unique words. If your text has 100 words and 70 of them are different, the repeated count is 30.
