Frequently Asked Questions

Which time zones are supported?

We support 9 major IANA time zones: UTC, America/New_York, Europe/London, Europe/Lisbon, America/Sao_Paulo, Asia/Jakarta, Asia/Tokyo, Asia/Shanghai, and Asia/Kolkata. These cover the business hours of most global regions.

Does this converter handle Daylight Saving Time (DST)?

Yes. We use the browser's built-in Intl.DateTimeFormat API, which automatically applies DST transitions for each time zone based on the date you pick. The offset shown reflects the exact DST status at that moment.

Is my date and time sent to a server?

No. All conversions run locally in your browser using vanilla JavaScript and the browser's native time zone database. You can disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.

Why does the offset change for the same time zone on different dates?

Because of Daylight Saving Time. For example, America/New_York is UTC-5 in summer (EDT) and UTC-4 in winter (EST). The converter picks the correct offset for the exact date you enter.
