Draw mode records each pen stroke as a list of pointer samples and renders it with the midpoint-quadratic technique: for every pair of raw samples the curve passes through their midpoint, using the samples themselves as control points. Type mode draws your text on the same canvas with a cursive font stack, auto-fitting the size to the frame. Every option — transparency, scale, padding — is applied at export time from the stored vector data, not by resampling a flattened image.
Download the PNG (transparent background keeps it clean over any page), then in Word use Insert → Pictures and drag it in, or simply copy the data URI and paste. Resize the image to your preferred signing height — at 3× export scale you have plenty of pixels to shrink without softening the strokes.
In most jurisdictions an electronic signature is valid whenever the signer intended to sign and the mark is associated with the record — a drawn or typed signature image pasted into a document usually qualifies. But validity also depends on context and proof of who applied it, which a plain image cannot provide. For high-stakes agreements, use a proper e-signature platform with audit trails, and treat this page as image creation, not legal advice.
Mouse and trackpad pointers are noisy — the smoothing helps but cannot invent steadiness. Draw slowly (fast strokes sample poorly), sign with a finger on a phone or tablet, or switch to Type mode and pick a cursive font: many people simply render their name in Segoe Script or Snell Roundhand and never draw it.
Draw-mode SVGs will — the strokes are exported as pure vector paths, so they render identically everywhere. Type-mode SVGs store your text plus a font name, and the machine opening the file must have that font installed or it silently falls back to another script face. If you must send a typed signature with guaranteed fidelity, send the PNG instead (outline conversion is not implemented).
